While Mercedes world wide sales were not that popular they released AMG GT a more realistic sports car than Porsche aiming Mercedes for a share of the Sports Car market where the SL was unpopular.

Also, if Mercedes brand image is to take advantage of the sports car and put out a car with a luxury image, would it be better to differentiate it from something like 911?

But if they do that, what kind of design and concept would they go with? In a way it’s the reason SL perfectly embodied that car and I wonder if any other interpretation would do the same thing? I really want Mercedes to show that other side.
