Kikuzou
Shirokane Kikuzou.
I went to Kikuzou after planning to visit for ages.
The parade of fantastic food was far greater than I had ever imagined!
The parade of fantastic food was far greater than I had ever imagined!
Followed by the warm feeling of pipping hot dried Shiitake mushroom.
Fried egg with tomato had a solid taste and packed a surprising punch.
The grilled favourite of ‘gyoza’ (dumplings) were normal, ‘Jakoiri’ (small fish) and ‘Daitokuji natto’ (fermented black soy beans), all of which you eat with 4 kinds of chilli oil.
Its best mixed with all of these.
The main dish is four different ‘nabe’ (hot pot) of delicious mushroom, all at once.
Eight kinds of mushrooms are finely chopped and mixed with Chinese cabbage, and an irresistible broth of boiled pork soup.
. The first stage is just a little pepper.
The second is some bracing ‘Sanratan’ (hot and sour soup) with vinegar and chilli oil.
The third is adding water with ‘gyoza’ (soup gyoza / soup dumplings)
And the fourth stage is Dandan noodles in soy milk with sesame paste.
A change of taste, makes for an enjoyable and unbelievably tasty new ‘nabe’ dish.
The last of the special menu is beef ‘mabodofu donburi’ (spicy beef with tofu on rice)!
Everything is simply too good.
I really want to do this all over again …
