The new AMG GT has been announced. It's a design that looks like an update to the old model, but it seems that Mercedes finally made the face design of this system a thing, and it's neatly organized. The headlights, which felt a little strange at the time of the SL, are now fitting well. However, after all, I feel a sign that I struggled not to look like 911.

Many recent Mercedes models have elaborate tail lamp designs, but this one is also very elaborate. The interesting thing about cars as a product is that consumers often give high marks to the model as a whole just because the design of a small part that has nothing to do with the essence of the car (for example, the brake light) is beautiful. This may be the correct strategy. In fact, if you look at the actual tail lamp, I think the 911 tail lamp looks old. Whether it's a good design or not is another matter.

 

今回、ちょっと新しい試みをやってきたのは「フロントグリルのためにボディに大きな穴を開けておいて、グリルはそれよりわざと小さく作る」という手法です。そしてその下の部分はエアインテーク的に見せるという。これは 旧型の Black Seriesで取り入れた手法で、これを洗練させた形で ノーマルモデルにも採用してきました。今後、こういったモデルの スタンダードな手法になり得るかもしれませんね。
