Vongole Tei

A sign that grabbed my attention while walking through Sannomiya in Kobe. ‘Kai-jiru (shellfish) Soba’. It looks good after having a few drinks? I check the closing time. Though I often I make it just as they’ve run out of both soup and noodles. It’s all-or-nothing, but decide to check it out after having one more drink.
The gamble paid off, as expected. We get there just as take-out Chinese soba is about to end: a successful business model it seems for local shellfish restaurants and one that’s well received. But the menu’s a reliable thing and two-doors down also feeling great despite how late is was. Well, most important of all, we were able to get some soba. Well, most important of all, we were able to get some soba. The soup has it’s own unique charm and now that we know more about what else is on the menu, I want to come back and experiment.
