Mackerel Teikshoku

Mackerel is a little hard for me to deal with. Because the image of ‘pickled mackerel’ comes to mind when talking about it. I always never order it for myself. That is until I came across these mackerel simmering away.

Imai-Shokudou in Kyoto:Last year, a university professor took me to Imai-Shokudou in Kyoto and was surprised whether such a dish would be as delicious.

This time this drawing was placed in from of us where we both … confirming that here is the best place to eat.

While thinking that trying the ‘mackerel teishoku’ (set mackerel meal) would be simple, I would always ask for the recommended ‘teishoku’ instead, attracted to the chicken cutlet.
