This is my first visit to LEDOYEN in about 10 years . The reason to visit Paris this time was to see a VUITTON trunk exhibition, but both places are slightly connected. When asked, “Where do you want to eat in Paris” I replied, “LEDOYEN, its been a while”. Right now Paris has lots of fashionable and delicious places to eat, and once in a while, theres also a classic place this.

This was where Napoleon had met Josephine. I wonder if he proposed here? Speaking of classic, that’s how classical it is. Established in 1779, this place dates back to 1792 and was opened amid the French Revolution. It feels a little mysterious … were they really able to run such an exclusive shop during the revolution?

Well, such establishments have a rich heritage. When I came before, I thought “The food is really avant-garde even though it’s so classical” Is that a French-thing … steadily evolving. It was very delicious this time.
