‘Suguruya’ Gyōza
I was introduced to the ‘Suguruya’ gyōza shop in Susukino by my travel companion.
Every order is engulfed with gyōza. I understand the shop’s quality from this alone. They’re tasty when just grilled but the dish called ‘kareinaru gyōza’ is superb. Gyōza are wrapped in a curry bread skin and filled with anko (red bean paste). These are addictive.
Then there is ’Imo no hana’ with what might be a new menu and strips of gyōza that are also exquisite. They’re almost like nira-manjū filled with a style of potato salad and indescribably tasty.
I never imagined gyōza in Sapporo, and when you want to drink a little more you can always count on gyōza to keep you going. Maybe.
