Submariner 5512

The Ref.5512 circle mirror has attracted a lot of attention. Perhaps it was the one model to have increased the most in price this year. Because Ref. 5512 was only made for about 4 years from early 1959 until 1962, the many variations were also an important factor in its popularity. The likelihood that the dial also remains relatively beautiful despite a drop in luminescence is also important compared with Ref.6538 and the Ref.5510 ‘Bond’ model (there really are only a few that remain in good quality)

With the trend of the times shifting from model hierarchy to a serious consideration of condition, it is becoming increasingly important that such a beautiful piece exists. Nevertheless, the vintage mark is not that strong what with the shift to Subs in the ‘70s. In that sense, while the Ref.5512 circle mirror was manufactured between 1959 and 1962, perhaps this beautiful piece was perfect to meet the demand of the times, with it still looking almost brand new.
