Tanterufuji

‘Tanterufuji’ in Fukuoka

As the shop name suggests, the Izakaya (drinking bar) sells dishes of ‘tongue’ and ‘tail’.

I became completely obsessed last year with this rare discovery.

Left to mature for two months, the upper ‘tongue’ is then grilled.

‘Sagari-yaki’ (grilled pork steak) with gravy.

The main dish of Tail ‘shio-yaki’ (grilled tail in salt).

You can only taste this stuff here. It’s irresistible.

However, the real genius of this place is the final course.

A real killer! Fried rice.

Eaten with ‘tare’ sauce poured on top, it’s packed with a hard punch of carbohydrates! No doubt this will knock me out with a single blow.

And the ‘tail’ ramen finishes me off.

The clear and refined tail soup along with ‘Hakata’ ramen (Tonkotsu ramen) is nothing but miraculous.

The arrangement of colour with ‘umeboshi’ (pickled plum) on top is also perfect.

A beautiful-looking ramen.

Full of ‘shochu’ (Japanese spirit), along with quite a few that are hard-to-find, Tanterufuji is definitely a good place for someone that likes to drink.
