Ajiboutetsunabesou

The new restaurant ‘Ajiboutetsunabesou’ has been opened by the famous Northeast Chinese food and wine restaurant ‘Ajibou’ in Kanda.
It is already difficult to make a booking, but as it was my first time I managed to carefully slip my way in.
The menu is course-only but it is possible to choose 2 from a selection of 4-types of nabe.
Appetisers like ‘Nikogori’ (jellied consommé), ‘tofu kansu’ (dried tofu noodles) and ‘Yodaredori’ (Cold steamed chicken) for example are all served at the same. Beer is really refreshing, and as food arrives I begin to nibble.

It begins with, lamb nabe with plenty of vegetable flavour coming from onion, tomato and carrot. With such simple cooking (err… excuse me), I am ashamed to say it is very delicious.
Although the Hanamaki-corn streamed bread comes with soup, it is also good by itself.
After gyoza soup is white fish and fermented Chinese mustard nabe, turning the taste strangely sour. Speaking of wine and the shops namesake, ‘Ajibo’, there is white wine that goes really well with this, but sadly it had sold out. So choosing something else guided by intuition is the next best thing.
It sounds as if they are full again this week, so it looks as if I was lucky. I want to go back as soon as possible.
