On Saturday, October 13 (2018) ‘Nike Presents: Shinjuku Gyo-en AFTER DARK’ will be held in heart of Tokyo’s Shinjuku Gyo-en Park, a vast woodland passed on to the city for athletes to plug into.

Normally prohibited from entering after it closes, Shinjuku Gyo-en will open after the closing time and offer a unique sports experience for one night, using light and sound interaction.

In the special running course of about 2 km in length which is set within the park, a huge LED frame tunnel emits light rays from all directions, with a variety of light and sound such as a single thin laser beam as if warping the space around it, and interacts with runners amplifying their running experience at night. In the vast lawn area where skyscrapers in Shinjuku can be seen, special yoga, dance and training sessions will also be held, directed by a fantastic light and sound show.

Also on the day, ten special guests will appear to enliven the one-night only event only, from footballer Yūki Nagasato, to swimmer Kosuke Hagino, skateboarder Aori Nishimura, basketball players Kei Igarashi and Shinsuke Kashiwagi, Fencing's Karin Miyawaki and Toshiya Saito, Rugby player Yasuki Hayashi, 400m sprint hurdler Sayaka Aoki and pole vaulter Daichi Sawano.

Also, a limited original t-shirt will be gifted on the day to the first 2,000 to arrive on a first-come, first-served basis

Participation Fee: Free
Age restriction: 16 years old and over. An underage person needs parental written consent.
Application deadline: Pre-registration deadline is 23:59 on October 12th (Fri) *You can participate if you register on the day as well (excluding GROUP RUN where exclusive pacer setters run the same race).
