In the days of the W124 the E-class wagon had the image of someone fashionable. You could say that image has dropped of late.

I thought about why this would be but the reason is there were no M-class, Cayenne or Range Rover sports models back then, rather than the current model. Perhaps people have simply moved onto SUVs rather than buy the W124 wagon.
