Mornings in New York begin with doughnuts.
It’s my first time to visit ‘Underwent Donuts’, found in the carwash opposite the warship floating on the Hudson River.
When I found the sign outside, I pushed the door open and was nervous at the sight of a crowded garage. But after giving them my order they deep fry the old-fashioned basic-style doughnuts. They ’re as fresh as can be and so delicious. This place is the best.
When I asked for one of their original tote bags, they looked around and realized they were out of stock so apologized and gave me some doughnuts for free instead. (laugh)
