Paper drop
The ‘Paper drop’ series has booming popular recently. M sized work now fetches for more than £20,000 but in the past sold hardly at all whatsoever. In that sense it’s also interesting the extent to which photography competes with oil painting as a category of art.
Ultimately, what’s different if Tillman’s work reaches the same price as Gursky’s, or not? It’s interesting when you consider it from that perspective.
