The film section of America’s largest festival SXSW lands in Japan — ‘SXSW TOKYO SCREENING WEEK’, held for one-week only from Saturday July 16th until Friday 22nd.

In the SXSW TOKYO SCREENING WEEK being held at Shinjuku’s Cinema Qualite carefully chosen films
including the Japanese premiere will be screened all at once from among SXSW Official Showcase works.
Memorable opening films include the documentary ‘Supermensch: The Legend of Shep Gordon’, a biography of the charismatic music producer.

Gordon was a talented producer that lead to worldwide hits for the likes of Pink Floyd, Blondie and Alice Cooper. A host of celebrities such as Michael Douglas and the Dalai Lama, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, Sharon Stone, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix all reflect on his way of life, and this premiere is a chance to see before being seen in Japan.

In addition, it is Canadian actor and comedian Mike Myers’s first full directorial debut having shown his own obsession with rock without regret with Austin Powers and Wayne’s World having previously proved popular with the Japanese public.

Tickets for ‘SXSW TOKYO SCREENING WEEK’ are available from midnight on Saturday, June 25th from the Cinema Qualite box office in Shinjuku, or can be booked online via the Cinema Qualite home page.
Lets keep an eye on this special opportunity and enjoy the world’s largest entertainment festival SXSW in Japan.
