Bahamas Gold

First produced by Range Rover, this has the renowned chassis number #001. This is a 2-door model, as expected.

This car was manufactured in 1969 and registered in 1972. As someone who created promotional videos for Range Rover, the original owner subsequently painted in ‘Bahamas Gold’ in 1975. The current model went through several owners with the body colour being changed several times until the chassis number was reconfirmed in the first half of the ‘90s.

Incidentally, I wonder why this was given the name ‘Bahamas Gold’ for such a simple colour? The Bahamas is an island the West Indies, with an image surrounded by water. Maybe there’s a link with Range Rover because it is a British Colony?
