We went to Bologna for the first time in ages. The last time was more than 10 years ago.
Because Europe has history buildings are old and have hardly changed in 10 years. They also felt as if they had not changed whatsoever. Apart from the hotel.
The last time I stayed in a classic hotel but this time tried staying in a so-called ‘designer’ hotel. Essentially I like modern hotels but ‘I Portici Hotel’ is a a good mix of old and new. Maybe this was because the room I stayed in just happened to be part of the new extension. Like this.

The bedroom came with a huge skylight, and ridiculously large bathroom.
Switch instructions were printed directly on the wall.
Written directly like this looks really good. I saw like a few times around Europe.

As good as it is, wouldn’t a new little hotel like this suit the classic streets of Bologna?
