FROM WHERE I STAND

This hotel’s shop is attractive.
Even though I don’t really like Ace as a hotel that much, as a place to buy souvenirs from, it does have an interesting concession stand much like a novelty shop. I did buy a cap there when I stayed recently.   Marlow Good group had a shop selling all their goods in the lobby of Wythe Hotel up until recently. Leather products come from farmed produce supplied to the restaurant. Even with Standard, there is the feeling that the shop completes its brand image.
Turning attention to Japan, disappointingly it feels as if contemporary hotels don’t have the same type of intriguing shop that classic hotels have, making some kind of interesting and otherworldly arcade. Even still, Deli and bakeries are improving.
The shop that would be in Fukuoka’s WITH THE STYLE FUKUOKA would probably be a little extreme (laugh)
I tried visiting since Yuhi Ozaki, and who acted as a buyer and who I looked after previously, had by chance come during my weekend trip to Fukuoka. Shoppers have ziplock bags, and has gathered American-style fixtures, but it’s little frustrating as I wanted to use something similar before in a men’s store (laugh). The shop also sells original sweets from Fukuoka.
Artist NONCHELEEE was also having an exhibition at the same time. Peculiarly, the signboard for ‘Tsudoi’ seems to be the depicted as ramen. Since I enjoyed the work’s sense, I was able to pick it up. Because the work felt good I bought it. Buying work from the hotel shop, feels like a slightly new experience.
