When I stay in hotels abroad, it’s the first thing I do in the morning. It’s your job to always leave a tip on pillow before you go out. But recently it is uncommon and no longer necessary. So even If I leave one, it’s not taken. Still, not being sure I always put a little something by, as I feel uneasy.

​ ​It’s easy to understand and looks interesting. But I took mine home without using it as the design is so nice (laugh)

… then, in New York's​ ​The Marlton Hotel.​ ​

The sort of thing is placed with care by the hotel and said to reflect it's personality and talk more about the hotel itself. I can't help but pick up the hotel ballpoint pens and memo pads which I collect as design material.​ ​
But with them, I go home with more of a sense of atmosphere than with any image from a digital camera.
