ZIP SIM

Until now, when abroad I used to have to reserve a mobile wifi router for overseas and pick it up at the local airport. A lot cheaper than roaming with a smartphone, and in the case of Europe (generally a lot slower!) it became a life line when the hotel wifi stopped working.
This time I’m in San Francisco. I’m only here very briefly so thought I’d stick with a dedicated ‘overseas data’ only SIM card and give it a go. To tether it’s inserted into a sim-free Huawei P9. Normally this is used with compact cameras instead using a mobile device with a roaming plan, but this time it’s a wifi router as well instead.
So, I gave the America-only ZIP SIM a try.
I could connect without any problem and had no complaints with the speed either. This really works. You can use 2GD for 30 days without spending ¥5,000. Also 1GB for 1 week is less than ¥4,000. I wont want to have to carry around a separate router, and can easily use the Huawei P9 for SNS as well as for taking photos.
This is the future.
