Are nose guards really necessary for snowy mountains?

I want one. Without the protection from this small piece of plastic, the difference in how cold the nose is differs a lot.I think without one you can’t feel, because as I’ve realised there are so few nose guards, yet it’s really really good.

And I can’t see there being any disadvantage to not having such a thing.

So Mr Oakley, bring them back!
