Dr. Martens' second installment pays homage to Basquiat, with designs based on his famous work "Untitled"
Dr. Martens has announced a collaboration with postmodern artist Jean-Michel Basquiat. This second installment includes three items (shoes and a backpack) that feature Basquiat's works "Untitled" (1982), which is his most expensive work to be sold, and "Pez Dispenser" (1984).
1460 Basquiat 8-Eye Boot - 28,600 yen (tax included)
1461 Basquiat 3-Eye Shoe - 24,200 yen (tax included)
The 1460 8-Eye Boot features the work "Untitled" both on the entire surface and insole of the shoes, and Basquiat's signature crown can be found on the back of the shoes. The 1461 3-Eye Shoe also features a crown above the iconic Pez Dispenser dinosaur as an accent together with a yellow heel tab.
Basquiat Backpack - 35,200 yen (tax included)
The Basquiat Backpack features the work "Untitled" on the entirety of its smooth leather surface. All three products will have a simultaneous global release on July 3 and will be available in Japan on Dr. Martens' online store (from 8:00 a.m.) and at physical stores nationwide.
