'The Milkmaid' Louis Vuitton Trunk

Louis Vuitton​ ​has made a special trunk of Johannes Vermeer's masterpiece “The Milkmaid” for the Amsterdam National Art Gallery. The trunk will be displayed for a limited time at the Louis Vuitton Mitsukoshi Nihonbashi store which reopened on October 10th.

The "Vermeer Exhibition" held at the Ueno Royal Museum, February 3, 2019, is one of the 35 existing Vermeer works, "Wineglass", "Japan's First Open to the World" "Daughter of a Red Hat" Nine points including "Woman holding" gather together "The largest Ferme exhibition in the history of the Japanese art exhibition". At the festival, the National Museum of Art, Amsterdam asked Louis Vuitton to make a trunk to safely carry the "woman pouring milk", one of the most important works among the paintings in the same building, to Japan .

A trunk that was made with an atelier in France / Asnieres is a fine gem that brass corner hardware and locks give light to an iconic monogram canvas. The exterior of the trunk is painted striped by hand, and the lining is used with vivid yellow that is reminiscent of the color appearing in the work.
