Kyoto is also closing in on Osaka's spice curry boom, with quite a few famous shops, but this particular day I just went to 'Mujara' and took a break from researching curry.
I wanted to taste the soup stock, so went to where it said soba shop outside the Kyoto Central Wholesale Market. Tetsuo Azuma of 'Aka' past by, it seems.
It is ¥750 for a set of buckwheat soba noodles with a mini rice bowl (although it is not that mini).
A strong deep taste of soup stock props up the working man. It is a wonderful taste for us in the midst of the Kyoto summer. A simmering bowl of oyakudon is delicious with a sprinkle of Kyoto like Japanese pepper. Chicken is also quite a thing. It’s unbelievable value for money.
There are still plenty other bowls, like udon and curry-tsuki soba. I guess for now I will try and go through them.
