At mealtime, on the bullet train from Nagoya when hungry, everyone slurps on ‘Kishi-men’ noodles from Nagoya. It’s possible to eat in the station at a stand. The food court in Shin-Osaka has theDotonbori ‘Imai’stand, famous for Kitsune-Udon. Dashi soup stock is perfect. ‘Oyako-Don’ (bowl of rice topped with chicken and eggs) is also superb. Here my mind is satisfied, and I eat without looking for the car my friend is sitting in, mainly as this is Shin-Osaka where there are no lunches worthy of this much attention.
