Although it would be great if there was a proper ride share service in Japan like Gett or Juno or even Uber. Recently, the media also seems to want to try and influence public opinion, contributing with articles about the “Japan Taxi” as absolutely no use whatsoever. It is completely useless, right. As you’d expect though, there is the sense that it’s just getting started, as in this article.
It takes a lot of guts to walk a long way to the station deep in suburbs of Setagaya late at night. There are no cabs to hail of course, it’s also not close to a busy main road, and it’s cold to wait outside.
Once I tried using ‘Japan Taxi’ when I had no other choice but to call a cab. But it took so long and couldn’t arrange a car, I ultimately thought it had crashed. What is this, really?
So, suddenly curious to find out more I remembered the app I downloaded the other day. Although not that close, as soon as I saw cars on the app’s map, I immediately changed my mind. There was no trouble registering either.
As soon as I began, a car turned up. Amazing. Maybe it just happened to be nearby but the app’s user-friendliness is clear to see.
Seems good to use for year-end celebrations. Thank god. However, when it comes down to it, I’d prefer Uber (lol)
