Single Red SeaDweller

Only a small number of the model referred to with the alias ‘Single Red’, probably the SeaDweller prototype, were produced for the Tektite I underwater project in 1967. It’s thought that only five single-reds were given to Tektite I. Shown at Antiquorum in 2012 it broke the world record back then with the highest bid of 520,000 USD.

In terms of it’s design, the red seed mark of normal Ref.1665 features red lettering, and although a 2-Line dial is the biggest feature (the second line of notation 500m–1650ft is also distinctive) where only 1-Line represents a loss, this model’s historical value is far more important than the design.
