6240 Oyster Alpina

In Phillips Geneva last year, the presence of Ref.6240 was made widely known to the world.

Even though a normal dial on face value, it comes with OysterDown markings. Moreover, as the so-called Ref. 6263 black PN Oyster, the mysterious dial has a font that’s totally different from the OysterDown. In all there are said to be fewer than 10 left with a silver dial in existence.

The Oyster Alpina’s historical value is that this maybe “the first time in history the OYSTER logo was printed on the daytona’s dial face.”

And would more than likely become something serious if this black dial came up for auction.
