Yakiniku Komachi
Yakiniku Komachi
the much-talked about restaurant among Yakiniku Freaks in Kyoto.
Maybe it’s because of the nearby university that there are so often queues for ramen but the famous exclusive ‘yakuniku’ bento lunch is also close around the local residential area. That’s why the gas flues that stand out seem to struggle so much.
Order forms are filled-out by you and given to staff.
My friend asked them to hold back a thick slab of the popular tongue when he booked. Other cuts include tender ‘harami’ meat, galbi and sirloin.
I like cheaper cuts of meat. For instance, I always ask if there are any off-cuts available, since the menu looks as if it might have some. Even here the one dish I must have is ‘yose atsume’ (or ‘mish mash’) which or course I order.
So delicious. To be honest, any of these are really delicious. Galbi comes first, but is too good for galbi. The cut is too perfect. And of course ‘yose atsume’ is also exquisite.
Even if I have yakiniku or yakitori, I don’t really enjoy anything that’s salt-grilled. Yet here sirloin here is different. The sirloin is best eaten with salt and wasabi …
I tend not to eat that much meat but on this day have double helpings. To enjoy eating and drinking this much, getting the bill is a bit of a shock. It’s makes sense to eat half as much in Tokyo … but then students are coming!
Reservations are already hard to come by and it closes early due to the local neighbourhood. You should definitely go though!
