Yôkaïnoshima / Charles Frazier Exhibition

Recently with I go somewhere with‘Bo-Ro‘exhibition, I feel drawn toward things that have a worn-material texture to them. Maybe I’m just fed-up with minimalist design.
This is ‘Yôkaïnoshima‘, an exhibition being held at Ginza Maison Hermes.
It was better than I expected. There are parts pulled into the power of this photography, but as human being I think we’ve been burdened by really problematic digital technology and operating systems.
The way the venue has been constructed is also one of the charms, though would have preferred being shown something simpler. Also, a catalogue doesn’t appear available, though a brochure will likely be distributed before the next exhibition. The ‘Yôkaïnoshima’ photo book has come out separately from the exhibition. I reserved a copy of the hardcover but the Japanese translation will be delayed another month. I will look more carefully next time I flick-through this in Marebito.
