The annual “World’s 50 Best Restaurants” award ceremony took place in Spain’s Bilbao on June 19th local time. First place is Italy’s Osteria Francescana, also awarded first place in 2016. Three restaurants from Japan, Den, Narisawa, and Nihonryori Ryujin, are ranked within the top 50, and Den was also selected as the fastest climbing restaurant, ranked from 23rd to 17th and given the Highest Climber Award.

Of the six restaurants newly joining the listings this year, such as Mikla (Istanbul Turkey) Hisa Franko (Kobarid, Slovenia) and Lyle’s (London UK), Disfrutar (Barcelona, Spain) enters at 18th place on its initial appearance, gaining the award for Highest New Entry, the award for the best new restaurant on the list.
