Yakitori Ogawa

‘Yakitori Ogawa’ in Arakicho.
The one yakitori shop I pass by the most. By which I mean I almost go there but never quite make it.
Whatever I might say, the white liver pate that comes out to begin with is exquisite.
I eat it spread on walnut and raisin bread but the taste is beyond any yakitori that I’ve had before.
Of course, the earthenware looks great too. Duck and guinea fowl are carefully grilled, leaving only the taste and none of that distinctive bird aroma. Grilled vegetables such as Kinshinsai are also enjoyable.
Finally there are three different dishes: Soboro gohan, Oyako-donburi, Tamego-kake gohan. These also come with soup, and then desert. This time, I’m given a nihonshu gelato.
There are half-course and full-course menus but definitely recommend the latter, as it comes with sashimi. Anyway, I’m really impressed with the yakitori.
I didn’t make the first cut of reservations, but being made to wait is almost attractive.
