The documentary of Yokohama Mary.

I didn’t even know about Mary until watching this film.

She’s wearing a white dress with her face painted white. We had the same kind of person living in my neighbourhood back in Mie prefecture. The tale is almost an urban legend. She has a red bag with red clothes and on a rainy day she would pull out a red umbrella. Makeup is dark and it is also hard to tell whether she is male or female. In the days when I was a student, you would them see them several times. you would definitely see the red women waiting at the bus stop …

The film is also about the same type of person. It felt light-hearted to watch, but there were things that definitely pulled at the heart strings.

A great documentary film.
