Takashi Murakami Superflat collection — Shohaku, from Rosanjin to Keifer
Notes on the Collection exhibition.
10 years ago have past since Damien Hirst had a fine art exhibitionat the Serpentine Gallery. Originally curated and one-sided, it was very timely and full of contemporary art. As something someone said about Music that “the best DJ right now makes for the best composer”, or Michio Akiyama’s wise remark that “all Creativity is really a matter of editing”, both came and went.
So, in terms of this exhibition, Takashi Murakami’s art is positioned facing each other with some spectacular content clearly displayed. Damien on the other hand, while also a showcase of parts, felt as if he was stuck in a rut.
A continuation of Mori Art Museum’s ‘The 500 Arhats exhibition’, basic photography though unusual in Japan is okay. Even though I received an invitation, I bought advanced tickets and will go and see (laugh) at my own pace. With a camera in hand!
