HIROSHI meets HAROSHI - Launch of Karimoku BE@RBRICKs and Apparel
HAROSHI, an artist known for his sculptures made from scrap wood from skateboard decks, and Hiroshi Fujiwara's fragment design have announced their first collaboration. The collaboration features Medicom Toy's bear-shaped figure BE@RBRICK as its motif. A collection of Karimoku BE@RBRICKs and apparel will be released in late December at 2G TOKYO, 2G OSAKA, and other stores.
The wooden BE@RBRICK HAROSHI 400% created by Karimoku in collaboration with fragment design will be available in two version, a “carved wooden version” and a “polygon version.” Each piece is handmade by a skilled Karimoku craftsman and will cost 682,000 yen.
As for the apparel collection, the cut surface of HAROSHI’s compressed skateboards, regarded as one of HAROSHI’s most impressive works, is used as stripes and is a defining feature of clothing. Multicolored knitted cotton sheeting and original striped border ribbing, which can only be produced in a limited number of factories in Japan, is used in addition to a defining BE@RBRICK pattern. Each item, including the short and long-sleeved t-shirts and jackets, has a unique design with special graphics that link the two names HIROSHI and HAROSHI.
