SEQUEL's Legendary Creatures

0508roc03_1104

Tapirs, dugongs and centaurs. The pieces of SEQUEL's seemingly helter-skelter lineup have one thing in common: they all feature mythological creatures. In Chinese mythology, the tapir is said to eat dreams and drive bad luck away, and in Japan, it is said to eat people's nightmares. Dugongs were the inspiration for mermaids in old seafaring legends and for sirens in Greek mythology. The fabled centaur is made into an artwork that combines Bambi, the title of one of Hajime Tachibana's songs, with him clutching his guitar. SEQUEL's animal T-shirt collection features lines of horizontal stars and wittily placed animals on the back.
