Daywear brand "Dorothy Hendricks" for children and adults launches, with designs by Riko Morishita
The child and adult daywear brand "Dorothy Hendricks" will be releasing its first collection of items on May 1 at 10:00. The brand's designer is former model Riko Morishita, with her daughter Lala Takahashi participating as a model.
Morishita worked as a magazine and ad model and had her daughter Lala Takahashi, who is also a model, in 2002. After retiring from the industry, she focused on child-rearing and was in charge of designing Undercover's line of clothing for children with Jun Takahashi.
She commented on how the brand came to be saying, "Having children of my own, I felt that a lot of children's clothing in Japan is quite reserved. Most of the colors are muted, so I wanted to design items that had a pop to them. I prefer simple shapes and want to show the unique charm of the brand through its color choices. For adult daywear, I make items that I would want to have. I like men's daywear and want to make unisex items so that they aren't labeled as just for men or women." This collection will release new items regularly, at a pace of 2-3 items each month. For the time being, sales are only being made through the brand's official website.
