8/25, Apple will open its first store in Kyoto. The location looks onto Shijō Dōri which has prospered as a main street of Kyoto since the 1600s.

　

The style of architecture of Apple Kyoto seems to have been taken from extremely Kyoto like design and materials. The design inspired by the Japanese lantern and using the image of materials such as wooden houses and Shoji, is surely creative creating a newness while fitting within this traditional city.
In addition, the central part of the store has become an atrium space spread through several floors, where free courses based around photography, music, and programming, and the ‘Today at Apple' session will be held.
You won’t be disappointed by this new image of Apple in Japan’s ancient capital.
