Kerze (Candle)
One of Richter’s well-known masterpieces is ‘Candle’, but this work is one of the twenty eight candle paintings in oil on canvas.
Kerze (Candle), 1982 , 90cm x 95cm : Oil on canvas
And this famous edition piece is shot from the original canvas turned back to front, signed with a large signature. The edition number is a little over 250.
And the work this time, one of two so-called trial prints produced when the edition was tested with prototypes, has been exhibited. Despite the smallish signature, I think that being able to buy the work at this price in the future will be almost impossible.
