‘The Morphology of Mobile Phones’ an exhibition celebrating the 15th anniversary of the au Design project was held in July.
I wasn’t able to go see the exhibition as couldn’t schedule it properly but received the catalog that had apparently been put made.
Actually, I mad this special case when Marc Nelson’s ‘Talby’ was released. Fujimoto from Evergreen Works turned it into a product from sketches similar to Marc’s rough diagrams.
However, I guess it was natural to be told “design by au” when looking back at devices done like this. Since that sensation did not end with the appearance of the iPhone, I would hope products that challenge the idea of the mobile device continue to be proposed in the future.
