RIMOWA Airport Service Counter
I was waiting for my luggage at Narita’s Baggage Reclaim, and the suitcase retractable handle came back broken and my name tag attached to it lost as well.
It’s unusual for ANA. At the counter I asked that it be repaired immediately, but wondered if the correct RIMOWA parts would be used. Looking around I found this service.
While Terminal 2 is different from ANA, it can still be dealt with at the airport. Why didn’t someone tell me that!
Well, anyway, it’s actually quite a-faff to unload the entire suitcase then and there.
I found out that it could be quickly repaired in store (I didn’t realise!) so the next day brought it straight to the shop in Omotesando.
It was completely repaired in 10 minutes. I didn’t have a receipt but with the serial number it was found to be within the warrantee period and repaired for free. I even had slight dings in the suitcase fixed as well. I had planned on making ANA cover the cost of repairs (lol).
But I’m wondering, when did RIMOWA become this fantastic?
Even up until recently, it was extremely difficult to deal with as a brand, having to send to an agent and wait weeks on end, only for them to refuse repair on items bought elsewhere. I wonder if that’s due to being bought by LVMH and becoming global? Incidentally, I bought this one at the Lufthansa shop at Munich Airport.
Now I can buy RIMOWA and go abroad without any worry from now on (lol)
