LG UltraFine 5K Display
Well, there’s a small problem with my MacBook Pro,
and since I always connect it to a monitor at work in clamshell mode, I took the opportunity to update the monitor to this Apple recommended LG5K display to see what would happen.
The driver is set automatically on the Mac side by just connecting. Power is conveniently supplied by Thunderbolt 3 as well.
However, mouse, keyboard or other USB devices need connecting separately with a USB-C hub. There are 3 USB-C ports on the back of the monitor, but the hub function doesn’t seem to work that well. What is this for? When it’s connected all together with a Thunderbolt 3 hub from a MacBook Pro it’s really convenient. Well, I guess it will work in due course.
There is also a small flaw in terms of the display. I wonder if it’s a problem with the graphics card … ? It’s an uphill struggle making my Macbook Pro normal again.
