I recently had dinner in Gotanda where I rarely go with an ex-member of a strategy consulting firm from a certain AV maker in Shinagawa. Which I guess means I’ll have some quick udon for lunch at ‘Oniyama’ in Gotanda.While wondering whether to go to ‘Shinano-ya’ which specialises in chicken … I arrive early at ‘Shokudou Todaka’ where we’ve arranged to meet.
Since I can’t go in until beforehand I wait opposite at ‘Tachinomi Todaka’. Cooking comes over from ‘Shokudou Todaka’. With such wonderful hospitality it’s great they’ve gone to all the effort of making a bar to wait in. It makes for a thriving business.
I’m soon taken to the dining room. While you can tell its taken inspiration from the menus of other shops everything is special and delicious.
And the building that the restaurant is interesting almost as if plucked from the Kowloon walled city. There are also Karaoke ‘snack’ and bars with a relaxed atmosphere. This place seems worth exploring.
