Cy Twombly Photographs – Lyrical Variations

A fantastic exhibition.
Several times better than the previous exhibition at Hara Museum of Contemporary Art.
The Hara Museum exhibition was a little too stiff. Work was too forceful and tightly placed together, and on the way home seriously began to feel as if “I don’t want to see Cy’s work for a while”.

And as the title suggests, photography is the main part of this current exhibition.
They’re really really beautiful.
When you enter the Kawamura Museum it’s somewhat dark. It doesn’t feel at all contemporary. It’s like a museum from about a decade ago.
Then with a good space that heavy mood lifted and suddenly all felt bright. I wonder if the gap between was helpful?
Really, this new exhibition was great. I want to go again before it ends.

Cy Twombly Photographs – Lyrical Variations

I picked up a souvenir t-shirt and some ‘Twombly Coffee’ too.

The hotel forbids taking photographs, and felt kind of old.
I understand that using flash is not allowed, but even these days such a photo ban makes no sense.

And an added bonus.
‘Kintaro-ame’ candy in the form of a global masterpiece!
This is great fun.
