When it rained the other day, I became drenched in sweat wearing a Gore-Tex jacket. Even though the vapour barrier is high like it should be, this season is already impossibly humid.
So I looked for something different and ran into packable Gore-Tex using ‘C-Knit’, but this wasn’t as straight forward as I had expected. Lots come in strange colours, and are often full-on jackets …
Then I came across​ ​Montbell’s Tachyon Anorak so thought I would try and experiment a little.​ ​
It is the world lightest jacket, an ultra-light 7-denier.
There is also a full-zip hooded top, but I purchased the US model as the zip colour is a little bit … you know. It feels half a size larger than something bought from Japanese. It’s also looks quite good in Charcoal.
Being about the size of an iPhone SE, it is likely to be useful and should be with you whenever travelling as it may be a little cooler in the evening.
