The Japanese-subtitled version of ‘Paradise Lost’ is out in Japan.

It always starts with DJ MILO.
Like UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship)… or Boxing …
Now and again I’m send videos and information from Milo living in New York. In the ‘90s, he sent me a message saying “Do you know this case?”, this case being ‘Paradise Lost’. Since the video had no Japanese subtitles, I vaguely understood what was happening but couldn’t quite grasp all the details of case being investigated.

And then it appeared in Japan.
No one told me it was out and have never ever seen it mentioned in a magazine either.
When I remembered, “it’s that movie”, I searched online and found it was a big hit on DVD.
It’s actually a really interesting documentary. Even though it is a documentary the characterisation of each person is so dark.
Part 2 is especially brilliant.

Then 2 or 3 years ago, this film finally revealed what actually happened.
And the outcome is beyond dispute … maybe?

A really solid piece of documentary film-making.
