The Future of Running – Nike LunarEpic Flyknit

On March 4th Nike’s LunarEpic Flyknit was announced somewhere in Tokyo. Also on the same day at 19:00, a space also appeared on Omotesando Crossing where you could virtually experience the LunarEpic Flyknit using a hologram.

Paying attention to the football boot, lead to the opportunity of development
The concept for Nike’s LunarEpic Flyknit was born more than 18 months ago. While focusing on the best use of comfort and power, with fit as an important element for any runner, they worked on the development of shoes that have the same level of comfort and wear as the Nike Majista which had been attracting attention at the same time.

The midsole adopts a dual-injection technology. While adopting the previous Lunaron, the two forms were fused together to form one using heat. To increase cushioning properties and the flexibility of specific part, the midsole’s side is scored with a laser.

The outsole structure is laser cut like a piston and pays reference to a pressure map. As only the part that takes the load is compressed, it makes for an exceptional ride.
