canon power shot n 2

I moved away from using compact digital cameras, but wondering whether the iPhone is good enough by itself, I try to use different cameras once in a while. .

The I really like the GR’s stability. I’ve grown accustomed to using it but recently it has increased in size, right. The sense and proportion of the initial model is really good. Maybe close-up photography is not that great. And although the GRII features wifi capability, it is hard to use with an iPhone app. I think that needs some improvement.

And Sony, here close-up photography is strong but colours are too vivid. Images have too much of a digital-feeling about them. Is it good for blogging? Of course, settings can be changed but images have a glare to them.

And Leica. To say Leica is made in Japan is an unexpected surprise, and works very well. Theres not that much extra functionality. Close-up photography is good. I actually received a model to try out from Leica about 2 years ago, but was not really interested back then and used it very little. Using now, it is really good, and very usable. It may no longer be in production though.

And so, the Canon PowerShot N2. This one is from a few years ago. When released, I though it was something fun and had completely forgotten about it. When I recently went in search of cameras to Bic Camera, this had been placed quietly in the corner so bought it immediately. This has now become my favourite camera. It’s sense of proportion is even more wonderful and works really well. You get used to the feeling of a single lens ring and feels physically very comfortable. It’s not suitable for all though and may prove tricky to operate for some.

I am likely to use this N2 for a while!
