When I had the end of year party last year in Kyoto (since I was there for business during the day I set-up party in the evening, I begging everyone to come to Kyoto and go to​ ​Shimme) I ordered some cookies from​ ​Murakami Kaishindo.​ ​
They look quite chic compared with those in Tokyo.

The Cream Sandwich is delicious.
A classic, inoffensive taste that is nothing but good.
There, on the same side, is​ ​​ ​Ippodo Tea Room​ ​where you can go and drink tea really well. I may make a reservation every time I go to Kyoto from now on.
